Police are hunting for a thief who made off with a lady’s handbag on a bicycle.
The woman was targeted in Perth on Thursday evening.
The woman was in the car park of Morrison’s when the man approached and spoke to her. He then grabbed her bag and fled in the direction of Caledonian Road.
He was last seen on York Place, heading in the direction of South Street.
Police have now issued a description of the thief.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “We are appealing for information after a 64 year old woman had her purse snatched in the car park at Morrison’s Supermarket, Caledonian Road, Perth at 5pm on Thursday evening.
“The woman was near to the bike rack when a man approached her on a pedal cycle, engaged her in conversation and then made off with her purse.
“The suspect is described as five feet eight inches tall, stocky build, clean shaven, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and a red baseball cap.
“He made off on his bike in the direction of Caledonian Road, then into York Place heading towards South Street.”
