Young athletes from around Perth and Kinross gathered to compete in their very own mini-Olympics.
With this summer’s Rio Olympics fast approaching, the region’s budding Usain Bolts and Mo Farah’s showed their physical prowess as part of the annual Perth and Kinross secondary schools county sports championships.
Hundreds of youngsters competed across a variety of events in track and field, including the 100m, 200m, sprint relays, shot putt, high jump and javelin.
The county sports event is the culmination of qualifying events for secondary pupils in every school in Perth and Kinross across the school year.
This year’s contest was held at the George Duncan Athletics Arena at Perth Grammar School. Thursday will see the turn of the Perth and Kinross junior athletes as the primary school championships are held at the same arena.
