A group of Tayside teenagers will be doing their best to ensure T in the Park runs smoothly this weekend.
The youngsters, aged between 13 to 18, are part of the Police Scotland Youth Volunteers (PSYV) programme, and will be working out of the Co-operative shop in Auchterarder and also at the venue site in Strathallan as part of a community policing/public reassurance operation.
The PSYV programme aims to strengthen the relationship between the police and young people.
PC Paul Morgan, one of the group co-ordinators, said: “The volunteers come from Dundee and Arbroath, and we have two teams of seven. They will work alternate days at a stall at the Co-operative shop in Auchterarder and also at the festival site.
“Today, some elderly residents were asking questions about transport issues during T in the Park, and we gave advice to youngsters on not doing anything stupid at the event.”
He added: “Police Scotland Youth Volunteers promotes a practical way for young people to understand policing by supporting the police in their local area through volunteering.”
