Emergency services rushed to the aid of a motorist after their car burst into flames on a busy motorway in Perthshire.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Police Scotland called to the scene on the southbound carriageway, south of Bridge of Earn, shortly after 7.25am.
One eyewitness said the engine bay of the black Ford Focus appeared to have been badly damaged.
Police officers directed passing traffic into the outside lane to avoid the incident.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to the M90 near Bridge of Earn at 7.27am as a vehicle was on fire.
“Two appliances from Perth attended.”
