Police at T in the Park made 17 arrests since the campsite opened on Thursday, mainly for minor offences.
Superintendent Conrad Trickett, the Police Scotland day commander for the event said: “So far it has generally been a good natured event. We’ve only made eight arrests today and recovered a small number of drugs.
“We will continue with our policing operation overnight and into the weekend. We ask everyone to continue to look after themselves and their friends and speak to any of our officers if they need any assistance.”
Nick Moore of The Scottish Ambulance Service said 182 people had presented to the hospital tent so far, which is largely on a par with last year.
He said: “Fans are in good spirits and on the whole people are presenting for minor ailments and injuries.
“We’d remind everyone to make sure they come fully prepared with warm clothes, any prescription medicines they might need and to drink water throughout the weekend.”
Referring to the two sudden deaths in the campsite, Geoff Ellis, Festival Director, said: “This morning brought a great deal of sadness for us all and we’ve been doing all we can to assist Police Scotland with their investigation.
“We remain focused on delivering a safe, enjoyable event for the rest of the fans onsite and we thank them for their positive attitude.
“Make sure you look after yourself and your friends for the rest of the weekend. Remember, there’s no safe way to take drugs, so don’t take the risk. Enjoy the music and have a great time.”
