The fightback against the elements has begun at T in the Park after torrential downpours turned the Strathallan site into a bit of a mudbath.
Parts of the festival site were flooded as the rain came on Saturday evening, although as usual it failed to dampen the spirits of the enthusiastic crowds who were nonetheless determined to see their favourite bands and artists.
The conditions were in stark contrast to Friday’s first full day of music, when revellers were bathed in sunshine ahead of The Stone Roses’ headline slot.
Cars leaving the site struggled to get out as the heavy rain caused the site to churn up, while campers trudged back through the quagmire after home favourites Calvin Harris and Travis brought Saturday’s music to a close on the Main Stage and King Tut’s respectively.
However, organisers have acted quickly to try and ensure better conditions underfoot for those travelling to the site on Sunday, with hay and bark being used to try and soak up some of the water.
The weather has not deterred the masses of music fans who travelled to T this year though, with many campers taking the rough with the smooth.
“It’s only rain,” said John Cusick, 27, who travelled up from Northumberland with his partner Susan..
“We might have to throw a few pairs of jeans out but it’s a festival in Scotland, so what do you expect?
“We were told to bring suncream and our wellies just in case, so we’ve made use out of them both so far.”
Sunday’s performances will include a headline set from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, while the likes of Faithless, James Bay, Jake Bugg, LCD Soundsystem, Chase and Status and Maximo Park are also on the bill.
