Motorists on the A90 were warned to expect delays after a car ploughed into the central reservation.
The accident happened just after 8.30am on Wednesday near Glendoick, close to the B953 Inchture road.
A Traffic Scotland spokesman said: “Due to a road traffic incident, the A90 southbound at Glendoick is currently restricted. Drivers are advised to approach with caution.”
One onlooker said: “It looked to him like a black Vauxhall Corsa heading west hit the central reservation barrier and spun round.”
Emergency services were called to the scene and the road was cleared by 9.30am.
