Tributes have been paid to a former Perth school student who died suddenly at her home.
Friends and family say they were left heartbroken by the death of 19-year-old Paige Mackay.
The former Balnacraig School pupil was found dead at her home in Inverness.
Police Scotland were called to the city’s Duncraig Street on Wednesday morning. They confirmed the death was not being treated as suspicious.
Paige died just days after returning from T in the Park, although close family have stressed the festival had nothing to do with her death.
Her sister Ashley Mackay said Paige was “one in a million”.
In a message on social media, she wrote: “Words cannot describe my pain. Paige Mackay, I miss you so much. I still cannot get my head around this. I’m absolutely devastated.”
She added: “I’ve never felt pain like this before.”
Friend Molly Shewan added: “Can’t believe I’m actually writing this: Rest in Peace, Paige, another one of my friends taken too soon.
“Was only the other day I was in your company when you came back from TITP, delighted with yourself that you have went. Shine bright.”
Balnacraig is a residential school which offers extra support for youngsters with social, emotional or behavioural issues. A spokeswoman said Paige was a “beautiful” teenager who managed to turn her life around and “lit up every room she was in.”
The school plans to hold a memorial event in Paige’s honour after the summer break.
Paige joined Balnacraig in 2011. In a newsletter announcing her move to Inverness, she was described as a “fun girl who loved her clothes, shoes, make-up and music, but most especially her weekends at home with her family.”
The article, titled Our Bonnie Highland Lassie, continued: “Paige was great fun and enjoyed periods of craziness, such as sledging in her onesie, singing and dancing in her jammies and joining in the many musical events that Balnacraig held. It was safe to say that she was the school’s resident night owl.”
Referring to her move out of the area in 2013, the newsletter said: “Paige, we will miss that lovely face and big smile.”
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “At around 11am on Wednesday, police were alerted to the sudden death of a 19-year-old woman at an address in the Duncraig Street area of Inverness.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
He said a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
