Perth-born athlete Eilidh Child could potentially make history by winning Olympic medals under two different names.
The hurdler, who changed her surname to Doyle after marrying fellow athlete Brian Doyle last October, tweeted that she appeared to have been entered into one event in her maiden name and another in her married one.
The mix up could see her potentially take to the podium as Eilidh Child in the 400m hurdles, but Eilidh Doyle in the 4x400m relay event.
She wrote: “So Eilidh Child is running the 400m hurdles & Eilidh Doyle is doing the 4x400m. This could get complicated.”
Child represented Great Britain at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and is the Scottish record holder for the 400 metres hurdles.

She is also the 2014 European Champion and won silver medals at both the 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games.
She competed under her married name for the first time in May this year, taking gold in the 400 metres hurdles at the IAAF Diamond League competition in Doha.
