A hardy team of Perthshire farm shop workers are gearing up for a gruelling — and very muddy — challenge.
When staff at the Brig Farm Shop near Bridge of Earn learnt a much-loved colleague’s daughter was suffering from a rare form of cancer they were devastated.
Rebecca Brown, whose mum Sheila works at the shop, was diagnosed last August.
The 23 year-old has been left needing a bone marrow transplant after doctors confirmed she is suffering with a rare blood cancer called myloproliferative disorder .
Not surprisingly, the diagnosis was terrifying for Rebecca, who lives in Alyth.
However, the CLIC Sargent charity is on hand to help out children and young people like Rebecca as they grapple with their complex conditions.
Staff from the Brig shop will join Rebecca in taking part in the charity’s rainbow assault challenge — a rather muddy 5K course — on August 13.
Team members including Carol Mcarthur, Yvonne Kindlen and her daughter Chloe are hoping to raise as much as possible to support the charity’s crucial work.
Anyone willing to donate ahead of the daunting challenge can do so by visiting the team’s fundraising page.
