A man has been charged in connection with the death of a protected mammal.
The Pine Marten died in Highland Perthshire in the spring.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “We can confirm that a 46-year-old man has been charged in connection with a wildlife offence following the death of a pine martin between Kenmore and Amulree near Aberfeldy, Perthshire that was reported in March 2016.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
Pine Martens are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. It is an offence to kill, injure or trap one, or to destroy, damage or disturb their dens.
