A popular Tayside diner has been transformed into a movie set for the fourth time in 10 months.
The Horn Milk Bar, which sits on the dual carriageway between Perth and Dundee, has been transformed into yet another film set over the weekend.
Already this year the diner has hosted two short films and been taken over by an international film crew for a top-secret Disney+ series.
The first was back in January, where the roadside restaurant was transported back to the 1990s for the BFI-backed production of Pram Snatcher.
Only a month later, the popular diner was featured in the short film, A90, which had been written around The Horn and its prominent place on A90 carriageway.
Star-dome hit last month when filming rumoured to be for a limited Disney + series called The Wedding Season took place at the The Horn.
This weekend’s latest move set featured sisters Moyo Akandé and Morayo Akandé – best known for their role in the short film 1745 – in IMDb-backed film A.V Van.
‘Surreal’
Owner of The Horn Kenny Farquharson said: “This is our fourth movie in 10 months at a place where we just sell bacon rolls and coffee normally.
“It’s just a bit surreal, you put a cow on the roof and that’s what happens and it seems we’ve got a little niche in the market now to do movies.
“We’re starting to get pretty experienced at it now, you know what to expect you know you can help them out as well with all the crew.
“In these times where it’s quite hard and business is difficult just now in hospitality with staffing issues, it’s a welcome diversion.”
Kenny said that despite the film crew, it has been business as usual over the weekend for customers.
He added: “This one is just filming from five o’clock tonight when we closed the doors until midnight.
“The previous one, the Disney one, we had to shut the doors for that one for two days.
Local talent
The upcoming moving will be the third in which aspiring teenage actress Gabi Farquharson has featured in so far.
The 14-year-old set her sights on silver-screen success after getting her first taste of on-screen action during the first two short films shot at The Horn earlier this year.
But now the local teen has gained her third role as a waitress in the latest movie set.
Gabi said: “Being part of the set, even when you’re sitting waiting for the next take, you get to watch everything that’s happening and I’m getting to see a lot of behind the scenes.
“Watching the make-up and the costumes and just how they do it, there’s so many different things that you didn’t think would happen.
“It’s been very fun and exciting.”
“I’m hoping to get into a lot more of this and not just acting.
“Just seeing it and being here it makes me want to do it even more, I have more of an ambition now.”
