A woman has been taken to hospital after being struck by a bus in Perth.
The pedestrian was hit by the Stagecoach bus on West Mains Avenue at around 10am on Monday.
Surrounding roads, including the busy Newhouse Road through Letham, were closed but have since reopened.
It is understood the woman is in her 70s.
Emergency services were at the scene, including four police vehicles and two ambulances.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said : “Officers attended at West Mains Avenue in Perth after a crash involving a bus and a pedestrian which happened around 10am on Monday October 18, 2021.
“She has been taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment and enquiries are ongoing.”
Internal investigation at Stagecoach
A spokesperson for Stagecoach East Scotland said: “We can confirm there was an incident this morning involving one of our vehicles in Perth.
“Emergency services attended the scene to attend to a pedestrian who sustained some injuries.
“Safety is our first priority, and our first thoughts are with the person who has been injured.
“We are doing all we can to assist the police in their investigation as well as carrying out our own internal investigation.”
