A police investigation has been launched following allegations that a teenage girl was attacked by fellow pupils at a school in Perth and Kinross.
Officers are looking into claims that the 14-year-old was assaulted at the school, which cannot be identified for legal reasons, on Tuesday.
The probe follows footage circulating on social media that is thought to be linked to the incident, which appears to show a female pupil being pulled to the ground and then punched and kicked by two others.
Perth and Kinross Council has confirmed that a complaint has been made to the local authority regarding a “bullying incident” and says that any allegations will be taken “extremely seriously”.

“If a bullying incident does happen, we want our pupils to report it immediately in the knowledge and confidence that it will be dealt with appropriately and effectively.
“All of our schools should be safe, secure, healthy and happy places for our children and young people.
“As such, we take all allegations and incidents of bullying within our schools extremely seriously.

“We also have an anti-bullying strategy which is underpinned by each school’s own individual policies, setting out how they will deal with reported incidents of bullying and bullying behaviour.
“Schools actively work to reduce bullying and address concerns through a range of approaches based on individual circumstances.
“We would always encourage children, young people and their parents or carers to report any incidents of bullying so appropriate action can be taken.”
