A national vintage biker rally hopes to bring a financial boost to Perthshire as 100 years of motoring history sweeps through the region.
Around 75 vintage and classic motor cycles and three-wheelers will roll into Blairgowrie this weekend to take part in the Scottish National Assembly of Vintage Motorcycles.
Participants will be arriving in Scotland from across the UK for the rally, now in its 42nd year, which takes place at Blairgowrie Rugby Club on Golf Course Road.
The event, hosted by the Central Scottish Vintage Motor Cycle Club, will run from Friday, until Sunday August 14, with a 100 mile rally on the Saturday and a social rally on the Sunday.
All of the machines will be on display at the rugby ground at 9am on Saturday morning, before they can be seen, and heard, in action as they take to the roads around Perthshire.
All of the machines will complete a route of up to 100 miles during the Saturday, with the first bike due to set off at 10am exactly, followed by the rest at one minute intervals.
Event organiser Lachlan MacLeod said: “Riders come from all over the country to take part in this event that is unique to the area. There will be 75 bikes from all across the UK.
“Riders don’t know yet where exactly they are going as they only find out the route on the day.
“We give them directions, a programme and a map. They also get a set speed, either 24mph or 30mph, depending on the capability of the machine.”
Taking part again this year will be examples of once-familiar British motorcycle manufacturers such as BSA, Triumph, Norton, Vincent, and Raleigh, while continental machines will also be in attendance.
Lachlan added: “There will be quite a few unusual bikes as we have got a couple of three wheeled Morgans and veteran bikes from the pre-1920s so there is a massive range of stuff.
“The riders stay in and around the area for the event so it helps provide a real boost for tourism throughout the area.”
