Drivers faced severe delays on the A9 on Friday after the road was closed near Dalnaspidal.
There were long queues in both directions following the collision, which closed the road completely just after 11am.
A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed officers had attended the scene alongside the ambulance service, though it is not known if anyone was taken to hospital.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police were called to a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the A9 shortly after 11am.
“The ambulance service was required to attend.”
One person travelling south on the road said: “We left Aviemore just after 11am and queued on the road for more than an hour.
“An ambulance headed north at around 1pm and traffic seemed to start moving northbound.
“There was movement on the southbound side by about 1.15pm but we only made it about half a mile before stopping again.”
Delays of an hour after A9 crash cleared
Traffic Scotland confirmed the road had reopened fully shortly before 3pm but drivers were still facing delays of up to an hour passing through the area.
Meanwhile, police and paramedics were also called to a stretch of the A9 near Bankfoot on Friday following another collision, which led to the closure of one lane.
It happened shortly after 11.35am, with the road cleared by around 1.20pm.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We were made aware of a crash involving three vehicles on the A9 close to Bankfoot near Perth around 11.25am on Friday.
“The ambulance service has been called to attend.”
