Bank of Scotland bosses have moved to assure customers after a skimming device was found on a cashpoint at Pitlochry.
The tool, which can be used to steal confidential bank card details, was spotted at the Atholl Road machine earlier this summer.
Customers issued an alert to the public on social media.
A Bank of Scotland spokesman said: “We are aware of a suspicious device that was attached to a cashpoint at our Bank of Scotland branch in Pitlochry in June this year. We can reassure customers that we have robust measures in place to ensure our cashpoints are secure and our customers are protected.”
He urged customers who thought their accounts had been affected to call the bank’s customer service team.
