A 31-year-old man will appear at court on Monday in relation to an armed robbery which occurred in Coupar Angus, Police Scotland has confirmed.
The incident took place at approximately 10pm on Friday night at Brodie’s fish and chip shop in George Square, Coupar Angus, where a three figure sum of cash was stolen.
A bladed weapon was alleged to have been used during the robbery.
Detective Inspector Nicola McGovern who is leading the investigation into the incident, said: ” I would like to reassure residents of Coupar Angus that this was an isolated incident and we now have a man in custody assisting us with our enquiries.”
There was a police presence in the area on Saturday as investigations continued and they were still appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 101.
The man will appear at Perth Sheriff Court.
