A Perthshire town’s watchdog group has been suspended after another round of resignations.
A by-election was called earlier this year after a mass walk-out from Crieff Community Council.
The surprise departure of chairman Stephen Leckie prompted an exodus in July.
Now interim chair and acting treasurer Marnie Gauld, interim vice-chair Dorothy Young and member Roger Cartwright have stood down, leaving just two members.
A by-election will be held on Thursday, October 13. Perth and Kinross Council has extended the deadline for nominations to September 26.
Mrs Gauld said she will “continue to remain an interested local” and would get involved in local fund-raising projects.
Mr Cartwright said: “It is clear to me that there is no future in working for Crieff given the treatment I have received since last November when I was elected to the community council.
“This does not apply to the recently resigned chair and it was her election that gave me hope and confidence for the future.”
Mrs Young added: “I’ve enjoyed my nearly 14 years’ service and would like to thank the people of Crieff for their support over the years.”
Craig Finlay, who alongside Alexander Fernie are the only remaining members, said: “It would be a great shame if there was no Crieff Community Council to keep driving things forward. The group has already done a lot of good work for the town.”
A council spokeswoman added: “We can confirm that Crieff Community Council is, following the recent resignation of three members, currently in abeyance.”
