A 55-year-old man is recovering in hospital after he was attacked by three men in a Perthshire town.
Police have appealed for witnesses after the assault in Coupar Angus on Friday night.
The victim was walking through Japp Square at about 10.45pm when he was set upon by a trio of young men.
He was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hosptial for treatment.
A Police Scotland spokesman said the man had suffered “serious injuries.”
He added: “The three men responsible are described as aged in their late teens to early 20s.
“One of them was wearing a green hooded top, with the hood up, and jeans.”
He said the other two were wearing dark clothing and they also had their hoods up.
