Police Scotland has confirmed that the body recovered from the river Tay was that of 15-year-old Kathleen Harkin.
The teen was formally identified by her distraught family following a huge search and rescue operation.
Friends and siblings had held out hope after she disappeared on Saturday evening after gathering with friends on Woody Island in Perth.
Hopes were tragically dashed, however, when she was found in water, near to St Madoes, on Monday afternoon.
Her family have said they are too upset to speak as they come to terms with the loss of a young woman beloved by all.
She was described as a “happy teenager” whose friendly nature was evident in the outpouring of support and then grief on social media.
Police Scotland has confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Kathleen’s death.
As with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
