Cottages in rural Perthshire were left without power after a van caught fire.
Emergency services were called to Hallyard Farm in Meigle shortly after 9.20pm after the vehicle caught light.
Concerns were raised after it was discovered that the van was next to a pole containing an electrical transformer and the decision was made to cut the power.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a van fire in Meigle at 9.23pm.
“The van was next to a pole containing a transformer so we alerted the hydro board to cut the electricity to nearby cottages.
“We used a hose reel to extinguish the fire. ”
