Several schools have been forced to close and commuters are facing travel disruption after heavy snow across Tayside and Fife.
Roads and bus services are being affected after the wintry conditions overnight left some routes treacherous or completely blocked.

It comes as a yellow weather warning is in place across most of Perthshire and Fife until 8pm on Thursday for snow and lightning – with the possibility of some thundersnow.
Traffic Scotland has warned drivers that they are likely to face some delays on several major routes.
Schools shut in Perthshire
Heavy snow appears to have hit Perthshire worst, with 13 of the region’s schools forced to shut on Thursday:
- Abernyte Primary School
- Aberuthven Primary School
- Blackford Primary School
- Cleish Primary School
- The Community School of Auchterarder (nursery, primary and secondary)
- Comrie Primary School
- Dunning Primary School
- Glenlyon Primary School
- Kinloch Rannoch Primary School
- Logiealmond Primary School
- Madderty Primary School
- Muthill Primary School
- Portmoak Primary School
Perth College UHI has shut its campus in the city due to the conditions.

The snow gates on the A93 at Spittal of Glenshee were closed for several hours before reopening on Thursday afternoon.
The Scottish Crannog Centre has announced it is shut due to the conditions and will provide updates for opening times on Friday.
Bin collections in Perth have also been affected.
Angus school closures
Although Angus appears to have missed the worst of the snow, two of its schools on the outskirts of Dundee has been forced to shut due to the weather conditions with some school transport also affected:
- Auchterhouse Primary School
- Birkhill Primary School
Roads affected in Fife
There have been reports of problems on roads across Fife due to the snow, with the A92 near Freuchie closed for a short time.
Some Stagecoach East Scotland services have also been affected – though many are starting to return to normal.
Fife Council says it has had gritters out overnight with more activity planned.

Meanwhile golfers in St Andrews will be unable to take to the famous links on Thursday.

Dundee disruption
Drivers were warned of snowy conditions on the A90 on Thursday morning, while Xplore Dundee also warned that services may be disrupted in some parts of the city.
