A van fire is causing significant delays on one of the main roads into Perth.
The King Contractors vehicle caught fire outside Kinnoull Primary School on Dundee Road shortly after 9.15am.
It brought traffic to a standstill and burnt fiercely until the arrival of fire-fighters who swiftly extinguished the blaze.
A man is understood to have been significantly injured by the blaze. No other known casualties have been reported as yet but the road remains blocked, with emergency services still at the scene.
Significant queues have built up on either side of Bridgend – already one of the city’s busiest junctions – and motorists are urged to seek alternative routes.
It’s understood the fire may the cause of disruption for some time.
