A week-long search for a missing Perthshire clergyman has drawn a blank.
Peter Edwards was reported missing after he left his Scone home in the early hours of Tuesday, November 1.
The 65-year-old was known to have taken a bus into Perth city centre and got off at Glasgow Road at around 7.43am.
Police have confirmed that he then travelled to Aberdeen and arrived in the city at about midday.
Mr Edwards, an associate pastor at a Perth church, took the 2pm bus to Stonehaven and got off at Barclay Street at 3.20pm.
He has not been seen or heard from since.
Now, eight days on, and a Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed there was still no trace of Mr Edwards.
“Enquiries are continuing,” she said.
Detectives have been checking CCTV footage in an effort to follow Mr Edwards’ movements.
There are concerns that he may have become lost and fallen ill.
Days before his disappearance, Mr Edwards gave a sermon on the importance of hope at the Perth Christian Fellowship Church, which he helped establish more than 30 years ago.
Congregation members have been praying round the clock for his safe return.
The church’s website calls for followers to join together in prayer and get in touch if they have information about the pastor’s whereabouts.
A statement on the home page reads: “Pastor Peter Edwards has not been seen since Tuesday, November 1. Our eyes are on the Lord, looking for a good outcome.
“Again, please pray.”
One friend described Mr Edwards as a “truly humble and godly man in every way.”
A description on the church’s website states: “His quiet authority, discerning ways and heart for God’s people are much appreciated by the congregation.”
Mr Edwards is about 5ft 9in tall and is balding with a grey beard. He usually wears gold-rimmed glasses.
When last seen leaving his home at 5.30am, he was wearing a long sleeved grey shirt, black tank top jumper, tie, grey trousers and black leather shoes.
Police in Perth and Stonehaven have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries.
Meanwhile, Perth man David Smith, 68, who was reported missing last Thursday has been traced safe and well.
