A pair of Crieff sisters performed for a star-studded audience, including Jude Law and KT Tunstall, at a charity event in London.

Cara and Iona Tavendale visited the Roundhouse for the SeriousFun Children’s Network 2016 gala.

The family was helped by Over The Wall, the UK arm of the charity, after Cara fell ill after routine surgery in 2007.

Talented Mr Ripley star Jude Law welcomed Cara to the stage and the 22-year-old gave a solo performance of John Lennon’s Imagine before joining her sister and others for performances including renditions of Miley Cyrus’s The Climb and Katie Perry’s Firework.

Both Cara and Iona have attended the charity’s camps following Cara’s diagnosis in March 2007 of acute appendicitis.

After surgery to remove her appendix Cara suffered septic shock and had multiple surgeries leaving her with several health challenges. Cara and Iona’s mum, Cat, heard about Over The Wall whilst Cara was in Ninewells hospital.

Cara attended the Health Challenges camp and Iona, the siblings camp.

Cat said: “I knew the girls would be well looked after, even though Cara had high care needs. Iona needed time to feel special.  It all worked out so well.

“Cara could do all sorts of things she had never done before. And both girls made so many friends.”

Both Cara and Iona were also standouts at their camps’ talent shows and it is because of their musical  talent they were selected by Over The Wall to attend and perform at the fundraising event.

Before they took to the stage, Cat admitted feeling a wave of emotions about her daughters’ participation: “I am nervous, excited, and so proud of both my girls.”

Kevin Mathieson, CEO at Over The Wall said: “We were thrilled to invite Cara and Iona to take part in our fundraising gala. This is a very special evening designed to bring the fun spirit of our camps to life whilst doing a very important job of helping us to fund-raise to ensure that more children can benefit in the future.”
