A street in Perth city centre was closed and two people taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash which caused one car to flip on its side.
Emergency services were called to Scott Street, at the junction with Victoria Street, shortly before 1pm.
Fire engines from as far afield as Dundee were sent to the scene.
Two people were taken to hospital as a precaution but it is understood their injuries are not serious.
The road was re-opened just before 2.30pm.
People living near the road say they heard a “large bang”.
Jason Henderson, 34, told The Courier: “I’m absolutely shocked at what’s happened, I can’t believe it.
“I heard a really large bang and could smell smoke coming from the scene.”
Karen James, 31, says she also heard a “loud bang” from the street.
She said: “It’s horrible what has happened. I looked out my window and the car was toppled over.”
Several fire crews at scene
One pedestrian said: “There’s a white car on its side at the pavement and another car involved in the collision, and there are a fair amount of rescue services here.
“It has happened at the junction with Victoria Street and Scott Street. The road has been closed but they are letting pedestrians through.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.55pm on Tuesday, police were called to the Scott Street area of Perth, following a report of a two-vehicle crash.
“Two people were taken to hospital as a precaution and recovery was arranged.”
A spokeswoman for the fire service said: “Crews from Perth, Dundee and Newburgh were in attendance in Scott Street in connection with an RTC.
“We received the call at 12.58pm.”
