A woman has died after collapsing at a Perth gym run by former St Johnstone goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert.
The 48-year-old took unwell while at the gym at Ladeside Business Centre on St Catherine’s Road on Thursday evening.
She was taken to hospital by ambulance but later died.
Police say the incident is not suspicious.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.35pm on Thursday, police were called to a premises on St Catherine’s Road, Perth, following a report of a 48-year-old woman taking unwell.
No suspicious circumstances
“She was conveyed to Ninewells Hospital, where she later died.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
Cuthbert, 39, came through the youth ranks at McDiarmid Park and went on to make more than 100 appearances for St Johnstone.
He also played for Morton, Ayr, Hamilton and Raith Rovers in a career spanning two decades.
He was forced into retirement through injury in 2018, and had a spell as caretaker at Rovers.
He now runs the fitness gym and personal training service in Perth.
Cuthbert told The Courier he does not wish to comment on the death at this time.
