A man threatened to cut off his own fingers during a stand-off with police at his flat.
Christopher Reid threatened to harm himself after concerned relatives called in officers for help following an argument.
During negotiations with officers, the 31-year-old was heard to say he was going to get a knife and chopping board and sever his fingers. He also said he would use a chainsaw if police tried to enter the property.
Reid, of Menzies Court, Perth, admitted behaving in a threatening and abusive manner by repeatedly shouting, swearing and uttering threats to harm himself on June 9 this year.
Sheriff William Wood jailed him for six months.
