A spectacular lantern procession lit up Perth city centre this weekend.
The traditional nativity event saw dozens of families take to the streets after dark on Saturday night.
Led by the Perth and District Pipe Band, the walk began with the unveiling of the manger scene at St Ninian’s Cathedral in North Methven Street.
The nativity scene was donated to the church by local businesses.
The colourful procession wound its way through the High Street for the reveal of a second nativity scene outside St John’s Kirk.
The celebration, which followed last month’s well-attended Christmas lights switch-on ceremony, featured carol singing and bell ringing.
Lantern-making workshops were held during the day and part of the route was decorated by a line of small LED candles.
There’s more Christmas entertainment planned for Perth later this month, with a carol concert featuring the Fair City Singers at Scone Palace. The show will be held in the prestigious state drawing room on Thursday from 8pm.
Meanwhile, the city’s pantomime Dick McWhittington begins at Perth Concert Hall on Saturday.
