Police in Perth have warned traders to beware of counterfeiters after bogus £50 notes were used at shops in the city centre.
A man passed the fake Bank of England notes at two separate stores on Wednesday, November 23.
Similar notes were reportedly circulating in the Blairgowrie and Coupar Angus area earlier this summer.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We would like to remind retailers to be extra vigilant when receiving £50 notes in payment for goods, particularly when the goods purchased are of low value.”
Anyone with information about the fake money is urged to contact police on 101 or Freephone Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
