A 4-year-old Crieff boy has been reunited with a teddy bear he was gifted at birth, previously presumed lost in the scrum during Perth city centre’s Christmas market.
As The Courier previously reported, Joe Dowse misplaced his teddy (affectionately known as ‘Bear Bear’) during a routine shopping visit.
Joe’s parents surprised him with the find following Crieff Primary School’s Christmas carol singing event on Friday (December 2) and it was an emotional moment.
“We’ve all had a favourite teddy. He’s an extremely happy boy to see his old mate,” said Mr Dowse.
Mr Dowse put the recovery operation’s success down to the diligent efforts of a charitable organisation and good Samaritan: “I put the details on a lost cuddly toy website called white boomerang – on the site you can print off automatically generated flyers to stick up.
“I got an email through the site from a nice lady called Judy who lives on Barossa Place in Perth. She’d seen the bear on the side of the walkway, picked him up and took him home. The upshot is that we got him back. Unbelievable.”
