A stolen baby Jesus doll has been found by police.
The lifesize figure was snatched from the traditional manger scene outside St John’s Kirk on Monday night — the second year in a row the same display has been targeted.
Following the theft police announced they wanted to speak with a trio of youngsters seen acting suspiciously at the city centre display at around 11.30pm, the time the figurine was taken.
Now though, officers have confirmed they have successfully traced the missing doll.
Officers revealed the doll was discovered undamaged and that three males have been identified as carrying out the theft.
A report will now be passed on to the procurator fiscal.
A police spokesman confirmed: “Officers in Perth can now advise that the stolen property has now been traced and will be returned to the nativity display in due course.”
