A man has been arrested after armed police locked down a residential street in Perth on Saturday morning.
Officers descended on Campsie Road at 5.45am after being called to “concern for a person”.
The road was closed off and armed police called to assist local officers.
Police said there was no risk to the public and confirmed that no shots were fired.
An eyewitness said that as many as 10 police vans, multiple armed police units and police dogs were at the scene alongside an ambulance service incident response unit and fire engine.
They added: “A number of armed police were present at the front door of a property, talking to a man who was then led away at about 11.40am.
“There were also police negotiators present, speaking to the man through a ground floor window as well as the front door.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.45am on Saturday morning, police attended a concern for person call at an address in Campsie Road, Perth.
“As a precaution, local officers were assisted by armed officers at the incident which concluded at 11.50am.  No firearm was discharged.
“A 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with incident and enquiries are continuing.”
