A Hogmanay firework may have sparked a major blaze at a Highland Perthshire hotel.
Around 200 guests were forced to flee the Fisher’s Hotel in Pitlochry, just after 6am on New Year’s Day.
Emergency service crews said the roof of the Atholl Street building was well ablaze by the time they arrived.
More than 50 firefighters used aerial jets to extinguished the burning top floor.
There was also a frantic search of the 137-bedroom property to ensure that all staff and guests were accounted for.
The cause of the blaze is still being investigated, but it is believed it may have been caused by a lit firework landing on the rooftop.
Pitlochry’s popular New Year’s Day street party, which was due to take place outside the hotel, was cancelled. The fund-raising event usually attracts about 5,000 people to the town.
