A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged after a nude couple on a tandem cycle ride in Perthshire were struck by a car.
Colin Unsworth, 52 and Sadie Tann, 32 were cycling in the nude on their tandem outside Bridge of Earn on July 4 when the incident took place.
Colin, from Lancashire, and Sadie, from Sheffield, said they were shaken up by the incident but were left unhurt.
The incident occurred after the naturists, who call themselves Freewilders, were spotted on video travelling through Perth.
The pair were in the city as part of their journey from John O’ Groats to Land’s End in hope to highlight the benefits of reconnecting with nature and promoting restoring to areas to a natural uncultivated state.
Pair cycling nude to draw attention to cause
Colin said that he and Sadie cycle naked at times, mostly to draw attention to their cause.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “At around 2pm on July 4 police attended an incident on the A912 at Bridge of Earn, Perthshire involving a car and two people on a tandem bike.
“A 32-year-old man has been charged with an alleged road traffic offence following the incident and a report on the circumstances surrounding the incident will be reported to the procurator fiscal.”
