Multiple emergency services were in attendance at a rural property south of Perth following a “disturbance” on Tuesday.
Police officers, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene just off Station Road in Forgandenny at around 2pm.
The fire service left the scene around seven hours later just before 9pm and police have confirmed a man was taken to hospital.
Witnesses told of seeing police carrying shields, while emergency vehicles were parked on a narrow country lane and in a nearby field.
One passer-by said: “I can see at least six police vehicles here along with incident response vehicles and an ambulance.
“A fire engine is sitting towards a farm house near a field and there’s a fire van along with one of the incident response units sitting in the field.
“Some of the police officers seem to be going back and forth between the main road and the field, and not long ago one appeared to be carrying shields.
“It is unclear what is happening yet but the incident is still going on.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.05pm on Tuesday police received a report of a disturbance at a property in the Forgandenny area.
“Emergency services attended and a man was taken to hospital for assessment.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were in attendance assisting police at an incident in Forgandenny.
“We had one appliance in attendance.
“We received the call at 2.10pm and the stop came in at 8.20pm.
“We left the scene at 8.50pm.”
