A Perth youngster was rushed to hospital amid fears they had consumed methadone.
Police Scotland has declined to provide details of the age or sex of the child but confirmed they did investigate the incident.
“Police Scotland can confirm that a 26-year-old woman has been charged in connection with an incident in the North Muirton area on Saturday January 28,” said a police spokesperson.
“Inquiries are continuing and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
Methadone is widely prescribed by doctors as a heroin substitute.
It is understood that the youngster is none the worse for the incident and has made a full recovery.
