A street in Bridge of Earn has been shut by emergency services after huge cracks appeared in the wall of a house.
Police and fire crews were called to the scene on Kintillo Road at 4.52pm on Friday night.
The street was closed to traffic at 6pm and a cordon has been put in place.
The house in question is understood to be several hundred years old.
Residents in the neighbouring property have been evacuated, and the house has been disconnected from the gas and electricity networks.
Locals described seeing a large hole in the front of the property and cracks in other parts of the building.
It is believed no one has been injured.
One neighbour said: “As cars and traffic were going past it the house was creaking from the vibrations and I thought ‘that isn’t normal’.
“The fire service arrived really quickly and I said to them that they probably shouldn’t park the truck outside the house, it could damage it more.
“The crew told us to move our cars and I think they’re shutting the gas and electricity off.”
One eyewitness said: “The house is quite old.
“There’s a crack on one side of the house and chat about a wall collapsing inside.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that firefighters are no longer in attendance, saying: “The property has now been left under the care of Perth and Kinross Council.”
Police Scotland also confirmed that officers are no longer in attendance.
The council have been contacted for comment.
