A man has been charged in connection with the death of Rebecca Sivyer.
The Perth mother died at the age of 23 after a vehicle crash on the A94 between Coupar Angus and Forfar, near Ardler, in August last year.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Following a fatal road crash on the A94, Coupar Angus to Forfar road, near Ardler on August 22 2021, a 29-year-old man has been charged in connection with this crash and a report was forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
Messages gave her mum ‘strength’
The news comes a week after family and friends marked the first anniversary of Rebecca’s death with candles and online tributes.
Her family also laid flowers at the crash scene and visited her grave at Perth Crematorium.
Candles were lit last Monday at 6.02pm, exactly 12 months since Rebecca was pronounced dead.
Mother Wendy Ghekis’s Facebook page was flooded with memories from well-wishers who showed their affection for Rebecca.
Many changed their profile picture to their favourite photo of her.
Wendy said: “I would like to thank everyone who took the time to honour Rebecca’s memory by posting photos and changing profile pictures, also for all the private messages, flowers and cards I received.
“It truly encouraged me and gave me strength to face the day. This, coupled with our faith, has been a blessing, comfort and healing.”
Due to start new job
Rebecca was a P1 pupil at Craigie, then went to Dunning for the next two years before completing her primary education at Balhousie.
After attending Perth Grammar School she worked at SSE (latterly OVO Energy) for three years.
Rebecca passed away on the Sunday, three days before she was due to leave the company ahead of starting a new job at Aviva the following week.
She was mother to Millie, who turned nine in June, and an older sister to Alexandra, 22, and Scarlett, 12.
