This year’s Enchanted Forest has come to a close and organisers are already looking ahead as it confirms dates for next year’s event.

The month-long sound and light show, found in Faskally Wood in Pitlochry, closed its 20th anniversary on Sunday.

Organisers celebrated by announcing next year’s event will run from October 5 until November 5 and tickets go on sale on Monday morning.

This year’s show was inspired by togetherness, due to it being the first since 2019 and people being able to enjoy time together after being forced apart due to the Covid pandemic.

This year saw autism friendly performances introduced for the first time, something that will be increased next year, with improvements to be made to the accessibility bus service.

Designed by Ian Greenhill and Rux Dragan at Studio Something, the newly established creative team saw companies and talents from across the UK come together to make it possible.

Organisers estimate that The Enchanted Forest brings millions into Perthshire’s economy and was a “much needed boost to tourism” after a two year break.

Nela Popovic, executive director of The Enchanted Forest Community Trust, said: “It has been brilliant to be back at Faskally Wood this year, celebrating a milestone achievement of twenty years of The Enchanted Forest.

“The pandemic and its aftermath presented us with many challenges as a charity and as an event, but we have overcome these extremely challenging times. I wanted to thank each and every one of our supporters for continuing to believe in us and the event, including the local community of Pitlochry, who have been extremely gracious.

“Thank you also to the many visitors who came to the show this year – it was wonderful to see the delight on people’s faces as they walked round the forest. The Enchanted Forest truly is magical, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2023.”

Tickets for next year’s show go on sale on Monday at 10am.
