Dundee indie the stars The View have been announced as the final act to play at this year’s Perth Festival of the Arts.
The quartet – Kyle Falconer, Kieren Webster, Pete Reilly, Steven Morrison and Paul Band – are expected to draw a huge crowd to Perth Concert Hall.
The one-off date will see the band joined on the stage by as yet unnamed support on Saturday May 20.
It is a coup for organisers who have been working hard to attract top quality Scottish and international acts to the festival.
In recent years, KT Tunstall and the Proclaimers have starred on the bill, with The View seen as a top booking for 2017 in a year in which Perth is bidding to become City of Culture 2021.
Perth Festival of the Arts Administrator Sandra Ralston said: “This is a great coup for us. We are delighted The View will be playing at the festival.
“We hope they will bring in a great crowd.
“We cover all the arts, from the visual arts to classical music, comedy and rock. The 2017 event offers a great mixture and hopefully there is something there for everyone.”
The announcement of The View completes the line-up for the festival.
Pre-sale tickets will be available from 10am on Monday March 20 and tickets for general booking at 10am on Monday March 27.
