An Aberfeldy business owner has been left “angry and frustrated” after 15 bikes worth about £25,000 were stolen from his premises.
Ross Dempster, owner of outdoor activities centre Beyond Adventure, found out about the missing bicycles after a colleague discovered they were gone on Tuesday morning.
He thinks the thieves might have visited the business beforehand.
The bikes were used for activities at the centre.
Ross told The Courier: “I didn’t expect it to happen to me.
“We have locks on the container and CCTV around the premises, but they never showed up [on the footage].
“I think they had scoped the place out beforehand because they found all of the blackspots.
“The whole thing is angering and frustrating.”
Staff on a ‘downer’
Beyond Adventure has launched an appeal on social media for anyone with information to get in contact, and the incident has been reported to police.
Ross says the theft has left his staff feeling down, with no clue as to who may have done it.
He added: “We have no idea who it could be – we certainly don’t have any disgruntled ex-employees.
“It has been a downer. We’re usually a happy bunch but we were all so down about it.”
Police appeal
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “At around 9.30am on Tuesday, police were called to a report of a break-in at Beyond Adventure, Riverside, Aberfeldy.
“Police inquiries are ongoing into this crime and anyone with information should contact officers through 101 with reference number 0664 of November 8.”
