A Perthshire primary school is appealing for help with costumes for its Christmas play after equipment was damaged by asbestos.
Muthill Primary School is looking for donations of clothes to use in its upcoming show after the old ones had to be thrown away.
It came after a clear-up of asbestos at the school last year left some of its existing costumes unusable.
An appeal on Facebook group Auchterarder Freebies said the school was looking for costumes for roles including a shepherd, stars and a donkey.
‘No outstanding safety concerns’
A spokesperson for Perth and Kinross Council said: “Asbestos clearance works were carried out in 2021 in the boiler room of Muthill Primary School.
“Due to fibres being found in a neighbouring storage area, items of school equipment, including some Christmas show costumes, unfortunately had to be disposed of as a precautionary measure.
“There are no outstanding safety concerns as these parts of the school are not accessible to pupils.
“The school has already been able to obtain replacements for several of the costumes through its parent council and other community sources.”
Anyone who can offer items for use in the play is encouraged to contact the school by email on Muthill@pkc.gov.uk.
