A woman died in a crash on the A9 in Perthshire on Thursday night.
The tragedy happened around 9.20pm at the junction for Stanley, outside Newmill Farm.
The 55-year-old driver of a white Mini Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene, which is between Luncarty and Bankfoot.
Police have not yet named the woman who died. They say inquiries into the one-vehicle crash continue.
The A9 was closed northbound while investigations were carried out and reopened around 2.30am this morning.
Appeal for information after fatal A9 crash
Inspector Gregory Burns said: “We are appealing for anyone in the area around the time of the crash to get in touch as you may have information that could assist with our investigation.
“Road users are also asked to check their dashcam to see if they have footage that could help with inquiries.”
