A Perth presenter has returned to TV just months after revealing she had been diagnosed with cervical cancer.
Jo Wilson says she is “delighted” to be back on Sky Sports following treatment for the disease.
It comes after the 38-year-old St Johnstone fan told in September how she had been diagnosed with stage 3b cervical cancer – which had spread to her lymph nodes – earlier in the year.
At the time of diagnosis, Jo feared she wouldn’t make it, asking doctors: “Am I going to die?”
But now Jo has marked her return to TV screens with a post on Instagram.
She wrote: “What a delight to be back and reunited with @julianwarren helping me through.”
Fellow reporters and presenters celebrated her return with well wishes.
‘Wonderful sight’ as Jo Wilson returns to Sky TV
Journalist Orla Chennaoui said: “What a wonderful sight Jo. That has made my heart so very glad.”
Fellow Sky Sports presenter Adam Smithy wrote: “Yes Jo. Great news.”
Natalie Pinkham, a pitlane reporter for F1 on Sky Sports, said: “Amazing Jo.”
It comes as the Perth presenter is facing a wait to find out whether her treatment for cancer worked.
In an Instagram post in late September she said: “Two weeks post-treatment now and slowly building my strength back up.
“Three months until I find out if the treatment has worked or not so all the positive vibes still much appreciated.”
‘When life gives you cancer, get married’
Meanwhile in October, she revealed she had married her partner of six years, Dan.
She wrote: “When life gives you cancer, get married.
“Cheeky little wedding for now – celebrate with you all next year.”
She also celebrated her birthday with Dan in September, saying she was taking “small steps every day”.
Speaking to OK! magazine about her wedding, the former Perth High School pupil said: “We really did want to celebrate our love – not because of what’s happened this year but despite it.
“It sounds unromantic, but being married makes everything so much easier if anything bad were to happen to either of us.
“Dan wanting to marry me and commit when he was seeing me at my worst meant everything.
“And it was a lovely distraction planning something special after something so horrible.”
