Emergency services have launched a search effort in Perth following unconfirmed reports of a person in the River Tay.
Police fear that a youth seen near Queen’s Bridge may have entered the water.
It is believed that the male was seen on a wall on Tay Street but was later lost to sight, prompting the emergency response shortly before 9pm.
Broughty Ferry lifeboat, a coastguard helicopter and Coastguard teams from Carnoustie and St Andrews have also joined the search.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said the incident was reported by a member of the public but was currently unconfirmed.
He said: “There is a possibility that someone may have gone into the water, but it is unconfirmed.
“A member of the public said somebody has been sitting on the parapet and then was seen no longer.”
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service added: “The police asked for our attendance as they had concerns for a youth seen near Queens Bridge.
“We are currently searching.”
