Motorists in Perth faced lengthy tailbacks after an accident closed a city centre street.
A blue Peugeot Tepee suffered a tyre blowout before colliding with a lamp post in the centre of Charlotte Street on Tuesday.
As the driver got out of his vehicle he slipped, hitting his head heavily.
Police said his injuries were “not life threatening” but he was taken to Perth Royal Infirmary by ambulance for an examination and treatment.
The accident happened at around 12.30pm and Charlotte Street was closed off from George Street up to Atholl Street during the incident.
Police officers diverted traffic while other officers attempted to remove the vehicle from the scene and debris required to be cleared from the roadway.
The vehicle and the lamp post were badly damaged in the accident.
The closure of the road meant that traffic attempting to cross Perth was delayed with tailbacks back along George Street and across Perth Bridge towards Bridgend.
Charlotte Street was closed until 2.10pm and at times cars caught up in the closure were nearly stationary.
Lorries heading along Charlotte Street had to wait until the road was reopened as they were judged too heavy to be diverted along alternative routes.
