A Perth woman has been left terrified after coming face to face with an intruder who entered her home while she was in the shower.
Lianne Bryant-Ness is now scared to be alone in her house in Letham, after the unwelcome visitor appeared at the weekend.
The 38-year-old has been in the shower before leaving to find the man in her hallway on Saturday night.
Lianne frantically called her wife – Michelle – at work, before the man left of his own accord.
Police are now investigating the intruder, including checking CCTV in the area.
But Lianne said she has been left terrified by the incident, which happened around 7pm.
She said: “Michelle and her son had left to go off to work and my father had just left after visiting.
“I was in the shower and heard the door open again and thought my dad had forgotten something.
“Thinking it was my dad, I shouted ‘be there in a minute’ but there was no response.”
After leaving the shower Lianne shouted again but was met with no reply.
She added: “It was weird when no one responded.
“I poked my head out of the bathroom to find a man standing in our hallway staring at me.
“The guy was just staring blankly at me.
“I was terrified and yelled at him.
“The exchange only lasted seconds (but) it felt like forever as he about turned and walked back out.
“The guy must have been in the house for a few minutes before I saw him.
“As he never said anything it was hard to tell if he was drunk or under the influence but he wasn’t swaying.”
Perth woman left shaken after house intruder
Lianne described the man as around 5ft 10ins with facial hair, wearing a black beanie hat and dark puffer waterproof jacket.
Michelle, 39, spoke to other Logie Crescent residents who saw a man acting “suspiciously” in the area just minutes before Lianne found the intruder.
She said: “This has left Lianne very shaken.
“She has not slept well since and doesn’t want to be alone in her own house.
“Police came back on Tuesday and told us they were doing follow-up inquiries with witnesses.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said “Around 7pm on Saturday officers were called to reports of an intruder within a house at Logie Crescent in Perth around 7pm.
“Officers are carrying out a review of CCTV and door to door enquiries as part of ongoing enquiries to establish the full set of circumstances.”
