A body recovered from the River Tay has been formally identified as missing Kieran Bruce.
The 25-year-old was seen falling from Queen’s Bridge in Perth in the early hours of March 18. His disappearance sparked a major air and sea search.
A man’s body was discovered at the water’s edge near West Kinfauns and Walnut Grove on Friday evening.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said on Thursday: “We can confirm that the body that was discovered on Friday, April 21, has now been formally identified.
“He has been named as Kieran Bruce, of Tay Street, Perth.”
She added: “Mr Bruce’s family are understandably upset by their loss and have said that he will be greatly missed.”
As with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
After the body was found by a member of the public, Kieran’s mother Donna, from Durham, shared a tribute on social media.
She said: “We can stop living in limbo now… At least we will be able to say goodbye properly. I so miss him.”
Kieran, who was born in Perth, studied plastering at Sunderland College.
